Uber Modern 88 coming to Miami 2018

With its refined mix of relaxed comfort and industrial conceptualism, the 88 captures the lifestyle of a creative, contemporary sophisticate.

Once again, the designer cleverly layers unique and innovative materials to create the concept of an open, light filled “loft” while cruising on the sea with

jaw dropping salon windows and a central floating staircase.

Creative use of stone was explored with surfaces of lavastone from the active Mt Etna. The master head wall creates a striking pattern by adding black metal rods to the honed white stone

The pattern of the white French oak floor was inspired by the shape of a tree when looking up.

The joiner style was inspired by a Mondrian painting with its linear precision combining industrial mesh sandwiched between glass and mirror which is enhanced by edgy graphite metalwork. Each bulkhead was designed to be a work of art.

Long leisurely meals on the aft deck while overlooking a beach club filled with water toys and lounge chairs that cleverly convert to water floats intentionally blur the line between indoors and outdoors.

New 112 Sanlorenzo completes/ coming to FLIBS 2017

Inspired by the uber chic island of St Barths, the interior design of the 112 is a nod to the laid-back vibe of this sophisticated island.

White sandy beaches, tranquil water and cool blue skies set the tone for the color scheme.  Volumes of crisp pressed cottons, bleached wood, distressed floors and classic cool seersucker are used to deftly blend the texture of the beachfront with the changing light using natural materials such as stone and wood.

A few highlights: the tri deck circular staircase was completely cladded in stacked pebbles. The designer commissioned an organic cocktail table made from reclaimed teak that had been left to bake in the sun and sea salt air for more than a year to achieve the unique white washed finish.  The table was then infused with an icy blue resin that was cracked to achieve a unique quartz crystal effect.  Each element of this décor was carefully selected to promote ease and relaxation.

The final result of the details evokes imagery of the white sand beaches and brilliant blue/aqua waters of the famous French Caribbean Island.

Marble in the Sea – feature by Lithos Design

Here is a nice write up by our friends at Lithos Design – we have used their incredible marble on several of our 86′ Sanlorenzo marbles…

__________________________________________Marble in the sea

Rigel by Lithos Design Primes decorates the Sanlorenzo 86 Yacht by combining marble and light.

Amongst the high-range proposals of Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo is the SL86 Yacht. This mega-yacht has also been designed in a version tailored to the US market with the interior design signed by American designer Marty Lowe. Inspired by the tradition of marble from Carrara where the Screen Shot 2017-05-10 at 2.05.35 PMshipyard is located, Lowe used big marble slabs to decorate the interiors and the external lounge area, focusing on the lightness and luminosity of the spaces. Wide windows, an open staircase, light colours and carefully-studied lighting create an ample, welcoming space which ensures guests maximum comfort.

The designer’s keyword is “light” and this is why the Le Pietre Luminose collection by Lithos Design Primes was chosen to decorate the living space with great elegance and style, creating a luminous ‘backstage’ area behind the dining space, which becomes the focal point of the open space.

The Le Pietre Luminose collection Rigel is one of the eight models of back-lit modular 3-dimensional stone coverings, where light drives the design and the design directs the light into fascinating luminous and ornamental effects.

The collection has been created from the sophisticated combination of design, the processing of surfaces across three dimensions, and thorough research into illumination techniques applied to the translucent properties of marble.

With Le PietreScreen Shot 2017-05-10 at 2.05.42 PM Luminose, walls spring to life. Light enchants and enhances every facet of the design, goes all over and reveals every difference in the slope, in the thickness and in the cut of the stone, highlighting the multiplicity of the worked surfaces. Light penetrates and passes through the natural element, revealing its most sensual and intimate soul. As a result, the marble is fully revealed, it shows off the harmony of its inner layers, and it displays unexpected colours as it returns a soft and suffused light to its surroundings, which in turn acquire a strong scenic personality of their own.

With a strong impact even without back-lighting, the models produce maximum expression when back light and grazing light are combined. Each module – measuring 60x60cm – comes equipped with a luminaire that contains an independent light source (available either in the fluorescent or the LED version), in order to ensure that normal maintenance is practical and easy. Furthermore, the independent light source included in each module ensures that the back-lighting is uniform, so that the aesthetic result is impeccable.

A new project on Fisher Island

An unusual project for MLI but we are enjoying the challenge and the gaining of knowledge.

We have been commissioned to provide our vision for the renovation of the exterior spaces of a 5-story condominium project on prestigious Fisher Island. The staircase and grand plaza currently have standard builders grade fixtures and materials lacking excitement and design appeal. Our goal is to honor the Mediterranean history of the island and the original mansion by Maurice Fatio with our overall vision.

To respect the Mediterranean style, we will be incorporating arches, lush flowing landscape that trails out of planters, wrought iron, hand painted tilework, pecky cypress ceilings. Elevator lobbies for all floors will be enclosed with iron framework and glass. Lobby furnishings will be sourced from Palm beach estate sales. Elevator cabs have been designed with painted cream boiserie panels and arched bronzed mirrors with classic black and white medallion marble floors.

Sanlorenzo 86′ about to deliver to a Mexican client

Organic materials, tactile stones, simply luxurious linens work harmoniously to offer the sleek refinement of a light filled yacht designed for a large active family. Special attention was given to exploit the exterior spaces to satisfy their requirement of large family meals that last hours, and comfortable lounging areas. Each area of the yacht was carefully analyzed to become a safe haven for small grandchildren resulting in richly serene environment for this special client.

Another 86′ Sanlorenzo completes to a US client

Sleek refinement of a light filled yacht emerges in a mix of smooth leather, stained wood, matte stainless metal interplayed with a minimal palette of grey cream and taupe.  “Give us an escape that provides serenity “was the mandate from these clients.  The unassuming simplicity of this yacht’s interior sought to achieve this mandate with each carefully appointed detail including a backlit niche for a hand carved Buddha statue.

New 86′ Sanlorenzo in production

Screen Shot 2017-04-26 at 12.26.25 PM

Classic furniture shapes and timeless references are invigorated by carving, color and sheen creating a seafaring sanctuary that is light filled and bold.  The Sanlorenzo 86 is a modern, tranquil interpretation of the designers love of the sea. This décor features richly finished and stained oak woods with textured wide planked flooring interplayed with walls upholstered with a pattern of smooth and sueded leathers arranged in a dynamic pattern of padded and flat forms.

A forward salon bulkhead becomes an extraordinary focal point featuring a back lit stone panel that has been hand carved from Carrara marble from the mountains surrounding the shipyard.  Light penetrates and passes through the natural luminosity of the Carrara revealing its incredible beauty and displaying unexpected colors as it returns a soft and suffused light to the surrounding space.
